Job summary

Intuitive in Sunnyvale, CA seeks a Principal Modeling Engineer to lead thermal management and FEA for the next-generation robotic-assisted surgery system. You will model electro-optical and electro-mechanical subsystems, develop thermal budgets, and validate designs through test plans and verification activities.

You will Partner with design teams and cross-functional groups to drive robust HW/SW solutions and address thermal challenges.

Qualifications

• Experience with finite-element modeling and thermal management concepts.
• Experience with electro-optical system design and mechanical-electrical sub-systems.
• Ability to communicate model results and tradeoffs clearly.

Responsibilities

• Provide FEA models for thermal-management concepts of a 3D surgical viewer.
• Create thermal budgets for displays and PCB assemblies.
• Develop test plans and perform design verification testing for thermal sub-systems.
• Communicate results and inform HW/SW tradeoffs with design engineers.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams impacted by design changes.
