Job summary

You will work with multidisciplinary teams, perform DFMEA, develop test fixtures, and create design history files under FDA requirements, employing MATLAB and ANSYS for simulations and verification.

Qualifications

• Experience designing mechanical components and assemblies for robotic instruments.
• Familiarity with design control processes and FDA Design History Files (DHF).
• Ability to perform DFMEA and risk analysis.
• Experience developing automated test scripts (MATLAB, ANSYS).
• Collaborating with supplier engineers for high-volume manufacturing and DFM.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and document components and assemblies for robotic laparoscopic energy instruments.
• Analyze problems, brainstorm solutions, and empirically confirm designs.
• Create product architectures for next generation reusable and disposable instruments.
• Conceptualize and analyze complex electromechanical assemblies; run simulations.
• Design and develop mechanical parts with attention to materials, kinematics, and stress analysis.
• Develop testing fixtures for verification and validation of production-level components and products.
• Work with suppliers to optimize DFM for high-volume manufacturing.
• Create design history files per FDA requirements and participate in design reviews.
