Job summary

Stitch Fix is seeking a Principal Full-Stack Data Scientist to advance foundational ML models powering personalization and recommendations. You will work across the full ML lifecycle, from problem framing to production deployment, collaborating with Data Scientists, ML Engineers, Product, and other teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a quantitative field (CS, Stats, Physics, Math) required.
• 8+ years of experience designing and deploying ML solutions, ideally in personalization/recs.
• Strong ability to architect technical solutions and write production-grade Python.
• Experience with large-scale datasets using SQL and Spark.
• Experience with PyTorch or TensorFlow.
• Strong evaluation and experimentation capabilities (offline/online).
• Ability to communicate complex concepts to technical and non-technical partners.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, evaluate, and productionize ML models for personalization and recommendations.
• Advance foundational modeling capabilities (embeddings, retrieval, ranking, generation).
• Explore LLMs and deep-learning techniques to improve systems.
• Own the full ML lifecycle from data exploration to deployment and monitoring.
• Design offline evaluations and online experiments to measure impact.
• Work with Python, SQL, and distributed data-processing tools at scale.
• Build production-quality ML solutions with focus on scalability and cost.
