Job summary

Dewberry seeks a Mechanical Subject Matter Expert/Principal Engineer in Nashville to provide technical leadership and mentoring across MEPS design projects. You will guide the mechanical staff, support growth strategies, and collaborate with architecture, electrical, and structural teams on private, public, and federal initiatives.

As a top mechanical engineer in the office, you will oversee standards, quality management, and client consultations, helping deliver complex project commitments

Qualifications

Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) or ability to obtain licensure within six months in the posting state.
Experience with technical oversight of multiple projects and leading teams to meet contract specs and grow performance.
Self-motivated with strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

Technical Management: provide guidance and quality oversight of mechanical engineering projects.
Technical interface with code officials and contractors.
Mentor and develop mechanical staff; support growth strategies and office standards.
Act as Engineer of Record on select projects as needed.
Coordinate with other disciplines (architectural, electrical, structural) to deliver full-service solutions.
Lead MEPS service line activities and participate in the local and national organizations (ASHRAE).
