Job summary

AMD is seeking a Principal Mechanical Design Engineer (Server, GPU) for the Data Center Platform Engineering group. You will drive the mechanical design of high-power server and GPU platforms, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure robust, manufacturable solutions.

The role requires deep expertise in mechanical systems, strong leadership, and a track record of delivering complex hardware. Candidates should have experience in data center environments and a passion for advancing

Qualifications

Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering or related field preferred; Master’s degree desired.
Experience in mechanical design for server hardware and data center systems.
Exposure to optics and laser design is a plus.

Responsibilities

Lead the mechanical design for advanced server and GPU platforms.
Develop detailed mechanical designs and prototypes; validate through simulation, analysis, and physical testing.
Collaborate with system architecture, board, validation, and manufacturing teams for cohesive development.
Represent AMD in technical reviews, customer engagements, and industry forums.
Provide consultative direction to senior leadership on mechanical strategy and trade-offs.
Mentor engineers and guide technical direction across teams.
Make critical decisions impacting multiple product families and go-to-market readiness.
