Job summary

Designworks Talent is seeking a Principal Hardware / Machine Design Engineer to lead the hardware design of GPU servers and rack‑scale infrastructure in a hybrid Bellevue setting. You will translate vendor reference architectures into production‑ready systems, optimizing for performance, reliability, serviceability, and total cost of ownership.

As an early infrastructure engineer, you’ll own the physical design from concept to deployment, work with NVIDIA/AMD ecosystems, assess new platforms,

Qualifications

• Extensive experience designing GPU-based servers or large-scale compute platforms.
• Deep knowledge of GPU server architecture and vendor reference designs (NVIDIA/AMD).
• Experience with ODMs/OEMs to design, qualify and manufacture production hardware.
• Strong understanding of rack-level infra: power, cooling, airflow, mechanical integration, cable management.
• Ability to lead technically within a fast-moving, high-growth engineering org.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and configuration of GPU servers and rack-scale infrastructure using vendor architectures.
• Collaborate with ODMs/OEMs to develop and validate custom hardware for production.
• Own rack-level architecture: mechanical layout, power distribution, thermal design, cabling, serviceability.
• Evaluate new GPU platforms and hardware innovations for AI workloads.
• Work with data center, networking, infra, and operations for seamless deployment.
• Balance performance, reliability, manufacturability, scalability, and TCO.
• Support hardware validation, qualification, and production readiness.
