Job summary

Amaris Consulting in Chicago is seeking an experienced Technical Lead - Mechanical Design Engineering to oversee mechanical design activities across multiple product development programs. This hands-on engineering leader will guide teams across sites, drive DFx, and ensure timely delivery.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years in product development, a Mechanical Engineering degree, strong regulatory knowledge (FDA/ISO), and proficiency in SolidWorks and other design tools.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 7+ years in product development and mechanical design.
  • Knowledge of FDA/ISO regulatory standards.
  • Proficiency with CAD tools, especially SolidWorks.
  • Experience leading technical teams across multiple sites.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and lead technical design teams across one or more development programs in a multi-disciplinary and multi-site environment.
  • Develop and communicate technical action plans while aligning priorities with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support planning activities and identify the resources required to ensure successful execution of technical design programs.
  • Identify technical risks early and propose solutions considering cost, timing, and product requirements.
  • Design, build, and test prototypes to evaluate and characterize product performance.
  • Solve complex engineering and product development challenges within timeline and budget constraints.
  • Collaborate with tooling and manufacturing experts to implement Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles.
