FormFactor, Inc. is seeking a Principal Mechanical Architect to lead mechanical architecture for next-generation wafer probing systems. You will define the system, design X/Y/Z/θ stages, and oversee wafer handling, alignment, and chucking for ultra-precise testing.

You will partner with controls, electrical, software, optical, automation, and manufacturing teams to deliver high-precision, scalable solutions and to drive product roadmaps and improvements.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 3 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD without experience; or equivalent work experience.
• Experience with precision motion systems and high-accuracy metrology is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical dynamics, tolerance analysis, and thermal stability.

Responsabilités

• Define and own the mechanical architecture for advanced semiconductor wafer probing and test systems.
• Architect precision motion and positioning solutions including X/Y/Z/θ stages and encoders.
• Lead wafer chuck, wafer handling, alignment, and chucking systems for world-class precision.
• Establish system-level mechanical performance requirements and targets.
• Lead mechanical architecture activities from concept to production ramp.
• Drive optimization of motion profiles, repeatability, and throughput.
• Provide system-level leadership across multi-disciplinary teams.
• Support customer installations and production ramp with technical leadership.
