Job summary

Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Principal Material Process Engineer in Roy, UT to support the Sentinel program. You will manage design applications, identify risks, and drive cost-saving manufacturing strategies for aerospace components.

You will collaborate with systems, design, reliability, and project teams to ensure traceability of part, material, and process design to performance. A DOE top-security clearance is required to excel in this role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Materials Engineering or related STEM field.
• Minimum five years of relevant experience or a Master’s with three years.
• Must be a U.S. citizen with ability to obtain Secret clearance.
• Ability to obtain and maintain SAP clearance and DoD Top Secret clearance.
• Experience reading technical drawings and 3D models; strong communication.

Responsibilities

• Perform full spectrum of design application parts management to identify risks and track at-risk components.
• Develop manufacturing control and cost-saving strategies for aerospace component manufacturing.
• Create roadmaps, impact reports, and present data to stakeholders and upper management.
• Research specifications and standards for part, material, and process engineering across supplier designs.
• Coordinate with teams to maintain traceability of parts and processes to system performance.
• Collaborate with engineers and customers to ensure proper documentation traceability.
