Job summary

Peraton seeks a Software Development Advisor to join the Medicare DME system team in the US. You will act as a principal technical contributor on an Agile team, steering design, coding, testing, and defect resolution with strict coding standards.

You will mentor developers, lead technical discussions, and deliver high-quality maintenance and development solutions within a structured environment. Peraton emphasizes security and compliance.

Qualifications

• BS/BA degree with 8+ years of relevant experience; or Master's with 6 years; or HS diploma with 12 years.
• 8+ years of mainframe development experience in production or maintenance environment.
• Advanced proficiency with COBOL, JCL, CICS, TSO and VSAM.
• Knowledge of health care claims processing, particularly Medicare Fee For Service.
• Agile/SCRUM experience.
• Strong communication skills and client-facing communication.
• Public Trust clearance and US Citizenship requirements.
• SAFe experience and/or certification.

Responsibilities

• Designs, codes, unit tests, and debugs complex enhancements and fixes to the Medicare health claims processing system.
• Leads technical design sessions and drives implementation of complex software components.
• Applies deep technical expertise to deliver reliable, high-quality maintenance and development solutions.
• Consults with team members, cross-functional organizations, clients, and vendors to resolve complex technical issues.
• Represents the team during client-facing technical discussions, communicating complex issues clearly.
• Provides reliable time and resource estimates for assigned tasks and projects to ensure sprint predictability.
