Job summary

General Motors is advancing lidar-driven autonomy tech. You will lead system-level decisions and tie optical, signal processing, and calibration to scalable production paths.

You’ll work with sensor, perception, localization, and simulation teams to deliver robust lidar solutions for consumer vehicles. You will drive technical direction, conduct rigorous trade studies, and ensure productionization challenges are addressed.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in electrical/optical engineering or related field.
• 13+ years in remote sensing or lidar development with leadership in lidar programs.
• Proven authority on lidar technology and decision-making authority.
• Hands-on lidar hardware development and signal processing experience.
• Weather/environmental robustness and autonomy product experience.

Responsibilities

• Define lidar strategy within multi-modality sensing for autonomy programs.
• Lead trade studies balancing performance, cost, and integration.
• Evaluate prototype and production data to identify improvements.
• Collaborate with production teams and vendors to realize production designs.
• Specify lidar performance requirements for robust cross-ODD autonomy.
