Job summary

DTCC is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to modernize Java-based, cloud-ready platforms supporting market risk management and daily settlement operations. You will lead backend systems, influence architecture, and drive the transition from legacy to scalable cloud-native solutions in a high-visibility, mission-critical role.

You will partner with engineering, product, and DevOps teams to ensure resilient delivery, provide technical leadership, and mentor others while advancing enterprise

Qualifications

• 8-10 years of related experience.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent professional experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead and influence system architecture with cloud-ready, scalable design patterns.
• Design, develop, and support backend services using Java and Spring Boot.
• Provide senior technical leadership by solving complex challenges and guiding solution design.
• Drive modernization and cloud migration initiatives in partnership with platform teams.
• Mentor engineers on modernization patterns and platform best practices.
• Own end-to-end delivery of new features from design to production stabilization.
