Job summary

Columbia Technology Partners seeks a Senior Java Software Engineer to modernize and productize a mission-focused software suite for deployment across a broad customer community. The role emphasizes scalable, environment-agnostic platforms, secure distributed applications, and advanced key management capabilities.

You will work with architects and stakeholders to design, develop, and deploy enterprise Java solutions supporting authorization and cryptography in cloud, hybrid, or on-prem

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field; 8+ years of professional software development experience preferred.
• Strong experience developing enterprise applications using Java and JavaScript, with modern development practices and Agile methodologies.
• Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders while collaborating across cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise software applications using modern Java-based technologies.
• Support the productization of existing applications by creating reusable, scalable, configurable solutions for multiple environments.
• Develop and integrate secure services, APIs, and components supporting authorization and key management.
• Collaborate with architects, developers, and stakeholders to design technical solutions meeting evolving requirements.
• Apply software engineering best practices throughout the development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design reviews, testing, and deployment.
• Participate in Agile development activities, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, and team collaboration.
• Troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve complex application, integration, and performance issues.
• Contribute to system design documentation, technical standards, testing strategies, and implementation plans.
• Support cloud, hybrid, and on-prem deployments while ensuring scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
• Identify technical risks and propose mitigation strategies to support project delivery.
