Job summary

Hut 8, headquartered in Miami, seeks an IT Operations and Infrastructure Engineer to design, deploy, and manage the company’s IT infrastructure across on‑prem and cloud environments. You will ensure security, reliability, and high availability while supporting a range of services and users.

You’ll work with Azure/GCP, Windows/Linux, and virtualization tools, reporting to IT leadership. The role is based at our Brickell area HQ with potential for impactful projects and growth within a leading

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• 3–5 years of IT infrastructure and operations experience.
• Hands-on cloud experience with Azure and/or GCP.
• Proficiency with Windows and Linux operating systems.
• Experience with ITSM applications (Jira, ServiceNow) and virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V).
• Scripting skills in PowerShell and Python are preferred.
• Certs such as CompTIA Network+/Security+ or Azure Administrator are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and manage IT infrastructure including servers, networks, and cloud services.
• Monitor performance, ensure high availability, and manage backups and patches.
• Provide technical support for hardware, software, and network issues.
• Lead IT security policy implementation and vulnerability assessments.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The IT Operations and Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for managing and maintainingthe company's IT infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance, security, and reliability.This role requires a technically skilled and proactive professional with extensive experiencein IT operations, network management, server administration, and cloud services. Additionally, this role will report to the Manager, Information Technology, andwork closely with the IT team to support and enhance the company’stechnology environment, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to improve overallIT operations.

Some of the key responsibilities you should expect are the following:

• Design, deploy, and manage IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and cloud services.
• Monitor and maintain infrastructure performance, ensuring high availability andreliability.
• Perform regular system updates, patches, and backups to ensure system integrity andsecurity.
• Manage Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and other critical ITservices.
• Implement and maintain cloud-based solutions for Business sand IT requirements.
• Monitor and manage cloud resource utilization andcosts.
• Provide technical support for hardware, software, and network issues to end-users andinternal teams.
• Troubleshoot and resolve IT incidents and service requests in a timely manner.
• Develop and maintain documentation for IT procedures, configurations, andinfrastructure.
• Implement and enforce IT security policies and procedures to protect company dataand systems.
• Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.
• Lead or participate in IT infrastructure projects, ensuring timely and within-budgetdelivery.
• Coordinate with other departments and stakeholders to understand and fulfill ITrequirements.

ABOUT YOU

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in IT infrastructure and operations.
• Hands‑on experience with cloud technologies, servers, network, and endpoints/devices management.
• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, GCP) is required.
• Proficiency in operating systems (Windows, Linux).
• Experience with ITSM applications (e.g., Jira, ServiceNow).
• Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper‑V).
• Experience with network technologies (e.g., Fortinet).
• Scripting skills (e.g., PowerShell, Python).
• Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, or MicrosoftCertified: Azure Administrator are preferred.
• Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Ability to lift and transport moderately heavy objects, such as computers and peripherals.
