Principal Instructional Designer

Job Summary:

The Colorado School of Public Health has an opening for a Principal Instructional Designer with the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus.

Responsibilities:
  1. Act as Instructional Design Team Technical Lead and consultant for the RM-PHTC LMS and registration system.
  2. Manage projects from end-to-end for instructional design initiatives.
  3. Create and maintain courses in LMS (currently Canvas).
  4. Provide technical assistance and course management for workforce training courses.
  5. Develop asynchronous learning opportunities.
  6. Create and edit multimedia learning materials.
  7. Support webinars and video events technically.
  8. Participate actively in team feedback processes.
  9. Learn and utilize new technologies and methods.
  10. Collaborate with stakeholders to identify suitable development tools and assist in content design.
  11. Train faculty and staff in LMS and related applications.
  12. Coordinate instructional activities, including logistics for distance technologies.
  13. Manage and update training portals, web assets, and LMS.
  14. Follow emerging practices in public health training and instructional design.
  15. Provide technical support to instructors and learners.
  16. Maintain websites and online assets related to the Center for Public Health Practice and RM-PHTC.
  17. Manage LMS Coordinator/Registrar and other team members, providing training and supervision.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Instructional Technology, Education, or related field, with 3 years of experience.
  • Experience with multimedia authoring tools (Adobe Creative Cloud, Camtasia).
  • Experience with content authoring tools (Captivate, Articulate, Genially, H5P, D2L Creator+).
  • Experience managing online courses and LMS platforms (Canvas, LearnDash, D2L Brightspace).
  • Web development skills (WordPress, HTML, CSS).
  • Proficiency with web conferencing and video editing tools (Zoom).
