Responsibilities
- Design, build, manage, and maintain the IT infrastructure supporting organizational operations.
- Architect and deploy IT infrastructure components like servers, network configurations, storage systems, and cloud environments based on business needs.
- Lead infrastructure delivery and transformation initiatives involving Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
- Establish a sustainable IT DevOps model with mature solution architecture aligned with industry best practices.
- Forecast future infrastructure needs and scale systems accordingly.
- Develop scripts and tools to automate repetitive tasks for improved efficiency.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders and IT teams to deliver digital solutions leveraging automation tools and coding skills.
- Automate system deployment and management tasks for private, public, and hybrid cloud infrastructures.
- Install, maintain, administer, and troubleshoot infrastructure components on AWS, Azure, and other appliances (Compute, storage, networking, virtualization).
- Guide team members in translating customer requirements into reliable IT infrastructure solutions.
- Identify repetitive tasks and automate them by developing reusable infrastructure provisioning and configuration code libraries.
- Assist in designing and implementing automation enhancements.
- Support DevOps operations by integrating IaC and Configuration as Code (CaC) into CI/CD pipelines.
- Create documentation using enterprise-standard templates, including installation, configuration guides, white papers, and design plans.
- Collaborate with architects to incorporate DevSecOps principles during software design and development.
- Continuously seek improvements to make infrastructure more resilient and reliable.
- Conduct research and review software and technologies for vulnerabilities, providing recommendations.
- Implement and maintain security protocols to protect sensitive data, including firewalls, access controls, and encryption.
- Review vulnerability scans and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Ensure compliance with federal security regulations such as FISMA and NIST.
Qualifications
- Solid understanding of cloud computing models (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) and deployment of AI models in public, private, and hybrid clouds.
- Experience with cloud data services and big data processing tools.
- Strong knowledge of network protocols, server OS (Linux, Windows), storage, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, RedHat), and virtualization.
- Proficiency with DevSecOps tools like Jenkins, SonarQube, Nexus/Docker, POSTMAN, Swagger (OpenAPI).
- 7+ years scripting/coding experience with modern DevOps tools such as Ansible, Python, VMware PowerCLI, PowerShell, Terraform.
- Experience with AWS services like VPC, Lambda, EKS, ECS, Docker, S3, CloudFront, RDS, CloudWatch, and Terraform.
- At least 5 years of DevOps experience.
- 2+ years' experience with GitHub or similar version control systems.
- Excellent understanding of the software development lifecycle, CI/CD automation, and deployment tools.
- Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and server virtualization.
- Strong analytical skills to diagnose complex issues and develop solutions.
- Effective communication skills for explaining technical concepts and collaborating across teams.
- Knowledge of security best practices and industry standards.
- Optional certifications: Terraform Associate, AWS/Azure/RedHat Cloud Solutions Architect.
Additional Details
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field.
Location: Remote, USA (preferably in DC or Austin area).
Clearance: Ability to obtain MBI Clearance.
