Part of a larger team delivering high-quality Computer, Network, Storage, and End-User Infrastructure technology solutions, providing ongoing support to the business. Independently completes infrastructure project assignments, plans, researches, evaluates, designs, and engineers the enterprise's technology infrastructure. Provides technical support, troubleshooting, cost estimates, justifications, and recommendations. Produces technical documentation, support, and configuration. Manages, plans, and maintains technical platforms, including system upgrades. Monitors system performance and configures hardware. Collaborates with other Job Families such as Project Managers, Architects, Solution Engineers, Technicians, and Business Analysts to deliver reliable technology solutions that adhere to AEP's standards and best practices.
This role requires frequent onsite visits to our Columbus, OH office, typically at least 2-3 times per week.
Working independently, responsibilities include:
Perform onsite duties in Columbus, Ohio, including testing hardware, executing image builds, and supporting the hardware depot.
Perform infrastructure project assignments: planning, researching, evaluating, and designing solutions.
Provide high-level technical support, analysis, operation, administration, and troubleshooting activities, adhering to change and incident management processes.
Prepare cost estimates, justifications, application requirements, alternative solutions, and technical recommendations.
Prepare technical documentation such as procedures, manuals, and reports.
Assist with budgeting and approval processes, and support annual and project planning.
May provide training and mentoring, and work direction to team members.
For Infrastructure Engineer Senior (SG7):
Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related field.
Experience: 5 years of relevant work experience; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
For Infrastructure Engineer Principal (SG8):
Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related field.
Experience: 7 years of relevant work experience; an equivalent combination may be considered.
2+ years maintaining computer hardware and creating OS builds.
Strong experience with workstation hardware (HP, Dell) and image build processes.
Knowledge of SCCM, Intune, JAMF preferred.
Knowledge of PowerShell or scripting languages.
Ability to create and distribute Microsoft Configuration Manager applications, packages, and task sequences.
Advanced knowledge of current PC hardware and peripherals.
Senior (SG7): $85,081 - $106,354
Principal (SG8): $96,110 - $124,941
