Job summary

Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Principal Industrial Engineer to support our Industrial Engineering team on-site in Promontory, UT. The role requires an on-site presence and involves improving manufacturing workflows and leading cross-functional projects.

The candidate will analyze capacity constraints, develop scheduling tools, and align MRP with execution plans. Preferred skills include Lean/Six Sigma, data analysis, and experience with Tableau/Power BI.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree with 5 years of engineering, manufacturing, or data analysis experience
Experience with cross-functional teams in a manufacturing environment
Lean/Six Sigma or equivalent methodologies
Manufacturing Execution System or MRP system experience
Experience leading teams or projects
Experience in Microsoft Office Suite, Excel, including macros and pivot tables
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government clearance

Responsibilities

Analyses capacity constraints using lead times, queue times, work-in-process, cycle times, and throughput
Build scalable models to optimize product flow with cost, schedule, and resource considerations
Develops optimized scheduling tools and align MRP systems with plan
Communicates requirements planning with IT, ERP, analytics, and data science teams
Collaborates with developers to design scheduling interfaces for work centers
Leads digital transformation aligned with sector strategies
Creates metrics and visualizations to track performance
