Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems in El Segundo, CA seeks an Industrial Engineer (Level 2) or Principal Industrial Engineer (Level 3) to join a diverse team driving manufacturing efficiency and program success.

Responsibilities include planning labor and facility use, cost control, scheduling tools, and data visualization. Must be able to obtain DoD clearance and travel up to 10% across programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering with 2 years experience; or Master with 0 years
• Master of Science in IE with 0 years experience (Level 2) or PhD with 0 years (Level 3)
• Ability to obtain and maintain DoD Security Clearance and special program access
• Travel up to 10% to support multiple programs and manufacturing areas

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement plans to ensure timely labor availability and facility usage for program delivery and cost milestones
• Conduct cost control, cost reduction, inventory control, and production record studies
• Develop optimized scheduling tools and align SAP/MRP with executable plans under capacity constraints
• Provide capacity planning, shop-loading, and staffing analysis for production teams
• Create metrics and data visualizations to monitor shop floor performance
• Perform time studies and drive action items from findings
• Support multiple product lines and programs as needed
• Improve manufacturing workflow using optimization and simulation methods
