ResMed is seeking a Principal Engineer for Identity Platform Engineering to lead design, security, and scalability of the customer identity platform. You will drive architectural decisions, set security strategy, and mentor engineers across teams.

You will partner with security and platform teams to ensure compliance, robust APIs, and AI-enabled improvements across lifecycle and developer workflows. This role is based in the United States and requires strong leadership and hands-on contribution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 10+ years of experience building SaaS applications in production environments.
• Deep expertise in Identity and Access Management (IAM) concepts, technologies, protocols, and best practices.
• Strong hands-on experience designing and building distributed systems at scale.
• Experience building and integrating with APIs and third-party platforms.
• Demonstrated ability to lead by example and contribute hands-on.

Responsabilités

• Define the architectural blueprint for the identity platform, including authentication, authorization, and user management.
• Lead the development of a comprehensive security strategy covering data storage, encryption, MFA, and compliance.
• Design and guide implementation of authentication services supporting social login, SSO, and passwordless methods.
• Ensure adoption of OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, and SAML across services.
• Establish scalable authorization models (RBAC/ABAC) and secure APIs/SDKs for internal and external use.
• Drive API versioning, rate limiting, reliability, and backward compatibility.
• Develop data migration and onboarding strategies for existing identity stores.
• Improve performance, scalability for high concurrency and large user populations.
• Establish auditing, monitoring, alerting, and incident response capabilities.
• Leverage AI to improve platform operations and developer productivity.
