ResMed Inc. seeks a Senior Software Engineer to design, build, and operate cloud-native applications powering digital health experiences at scale. You will mentor engineers, own complex features, and steer AI-enabled development while collaborating with product, UX, quality, and security teams.

The role emphasizes strong fundamentals, API design, distributed systems, and production operations, with opportunities to influence technical direction and improve engineering practices across the team.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong fundamentals and production systems experience.
• Proficiency in one or more modern programming languages.
• Experience designing APIs, services, distributed systems, or cloud-native apps.
• Experience with automated testing, CI/CD, observability, debugging, and production ops.
• Navigate complex technical challenges and make sound trade-offs.
• Understand scalability, reliability, performance, security, and maintainability.
• Experience leading initiatives and mentoring engineers.
• Excellent collaboration and communication across teams.
• Product-minded with customer/business problem awareness.
• Hands-on experience with AI-assisted software engineering tools.
• Experience with AWS or other cloud platforms and modern cloud tech is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, test, deploy, and operate scalable cloud-native applications.
• Own features and technical initiatives from definition through production.
• Translate customer problems into technical designs and implementation plans.
• Make architecture decisions balancing scalability, security, reliability, and maintainability.
• Use AI tools to improve development, testing, and operations.
• Explore automated development approaches to improve productivity and quality.
• Review and validate AI-generated solutions with strong engineering judgement.
• Build clean APIs and services with modern practices.
• Establish testing, observability, and incident prevention processes.
• Mentor engineers and drive growth in problem solving and practices.
