Job summary

GliaCell Technologies is seeking a Principal HPC Software Engineer in Annapolis, Maryland. This full-time position involves supporting a U.S. Government customer by providing technical expertise to sustain critical mission-related software and systems.

Key responsibilities include defining and deploying software components, collaborating with Agile teams, and ensuring thorough testing. The ideal candidate must possess an active TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance and relevant educational qualifications.

Qualifications

• Possess an active or re-instate TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance.
• 7 years of experience as an HSE for Bachelor's holders, or 5 years for Master's holders.

Job Description

GliaCell is seeking a Principal HPC Software Engineer on one of our subcontracts. This is a full‑time position offering the opportunity to support a U.S. Government customer. The mission is to provide technical expertise that assists in sustaining critical mission‑related software and systems to a large government contract.

Key Responsibilities

• STE/STN automation and monitoring sustainment
• Frontend hardening
• Utility frontdoor and courier containers
• RBAC and CMS product creation & sustainment
• Mapping of roles to permission sets
• General solution security
• Background hardening, as applicable
• Security reviews and audits for other team’s products
• Security expertise at the design and implementation level

Day to Day

• Define, develop, test, and deploy components of the solution
• Work with an Agile team to create and refine user stories and acceptance criteria
• Collaborate with other team members to build and test software and hardware components
• Participate in daily stand‑up/scrum meetings
• Conduct research, prototyping, and exploration activities
• Develop, maintain, and enhance complex and diverse infrastructure as code (IaC) for large‑scale computing systems
• Work with installation, configuration, testing, and operational management of system solutions

Key Requirements

• Possess an active or re‑instatable TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree in Math, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline from an accredited college or university & 7 years of experience as an HSE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
• OR, a Master’s degree in Math, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline from an accredited college or university, plus 5 years of experience as an HSE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
• Works well independently as well as on a team.

Key Skills

• Willing and able to learn Ansible
• Adapting to and adhering to project‑specific Ansible coding standards
• Familiar with and able to perform full software‑development lifecycle support with version‑control tools (Git, GitLab)
• Works independently, as well as with a team, to ensure that all components are functioning properly
• Stays abreast of the latest industry trends in both open source and commercial solutions. Supports determination of if‑and‑when to incorporate them into an IaC solution
• Communicative, collaborative, and organized
• Willing and able to learn new tools, protocols, custom software, firmware, and hardware

Salary Range

The salary range for this full‑time position is $170,000 to $260,000. Our salary ranges are determined by position, level, skills, professional experience, relevant education and certifications. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for this position across our projects.
