Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems in Melbourne, FL is seeking a GNC Engineer (Level 2) or Principal GNC Engineer (Level 3) to join a team developing guidance, navigation, and control solutions for air vehicles. The role focuses on designing flight software, simulations, and robust algorithms to meet mission requirements.

Candidates should have a STEM degree with relevant experience, and the ability to obtain a US Secret clearance.

Qualifications

Bachelor's in STEM with 2+ years of experience; Master's with no experience.
Principal: Bachelor's with 5+ years, Master's with 3 years, or PhD with no experience.
Demonstrated understanding of GNC systems.
Ability to obtain/maintain US Secret clearance.
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and implement flight software algorithms for GNC functions.
Develop simulation software to test mission requirements for the air vehicle.
Navigation functions include processing data and simulating physical reality.
Guidance functions formulate equations to achieve desired position, orientation, or trajectory.
Control design and analyses develop control laws and hardware/software requirements.
Report milestones, approaches, and findings to GNC and program management.
Work under general supervision and contribute to project milestones.
