Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems seeks an Engineer for Guidance, Navigation and Control (Level 2) to join a multidisciplinary team onsite in San Diego, CA. The role requires a Top Secret clearance and focuses on developing control laws and simulation tools for air vehicles.

The candidate will design, implement, verify, and test GNC algorithms, analyze flight data, and support flight testing within a collaborative, mission-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM and 2 years of related engineering experience.
• Master’s degree in STEM and 0 years of related engineering experience.
• Experience with fixed-wing aircraft flight dynamics.
• Experience using linear control principles to design feedback control systems.
• Proficiency in MATLAB to create, process, analyze, and visually represent data.
• Active US Government Top Secret clearance (with PAR/SAP access).

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, verify and test GNC algorithms for air vehicles.
• Develop control laws to meet air vehicle performance, flying qualities and stability margin requirements.
• Create and integrate models into software- and hardware-in-the-loop simulations.
• Analyze air vehicle flight test data and support flight test activities.
