Northrop Grumman in Melbourne, FL is seeking a Sr. Principal GNC Engineer – Flying Qualities to design, develop, and test advanced guidance, navigation, and control algorithms for air vehicles.

This role requires a STEM degree with extensive experience and an active US Secret (and Top Secret) clearance; multi-disciplinary collaboration; model-based development in MATLAB/Simulink; and interaction with customers and suppliers.

Qualifications

• Must have a STEM degree with 8+ years for BS, 6+ for MS, or 4+ for PhD in a related field.
• Active US Government Secret clearance with potential for Top Secret clearance.
• Experience with airworthiness assessments and multi-disciplinary GNC programs.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, implement, verify and test GNC algorithms and software.
• Develop control laws to meet flying qualities and stability margins.
• Create air vehicle dynamic models and integrate into simulations (HIL/ SIL).
• Analyze flight test data and support reviews (PDR/CDR).
• Interface with customers and suppliers in technical exchanges and milestones.
