Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems seeks a GNC Engineer or Principal GNC Engineer in El Segundo, CA to advance flight control for air vehicles. You will develop, verify, and test guidance, navigation, and control algorithms and integrate models for HIL environments.

Preferred candidates hold strong MATLAB/Simulink experience, C/C++, and Python skills, with the ability to obtain a US Government Secret clearance. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree + 2 years experience or Master’s with 0 years.
• Fixed-wing flight dynamics knowledge required.
• Experience with MATLAB and Simulink.
• Ability to obtain/maintain US Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Support flight control algorithm research for manned/unmanned air vehicles.
• Design and test GNC software and simulations.
• Develop outer/inner loop control laws and autonomy logic.
• Create dynamic models for software/hardware-in-the-loop.
• Analyze performance and flying qualities; support flight tests.
• Prepare design reviews (PDR/CDR) and analyses.
