Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 1–2 years of relevant experience in a fast-paced office environment.
• Experience in higher education and/or institutional development or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
• Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal skills.
• Excellent organization/project management skills, ability to manage ambiguity and change, and a strong attention to details.
• Exceptional computer skills and data literacy; familiarity with donor management databases and report writing.
• Strong proficiency in preparation of numeric- and text-laden spreadsheets, PowerPoint, Excel.
• Experience with Salesforce preferred but not required.
• Capability to handle complex and highly confidential information.
• Ability to travel locally and nationally; willing to work evenings and weekends.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Ability to lift 25 lbs. or less.

Responsibilities

• Working under the direction of the Senior Philanthropy Officer, plan and implement an overall strategy of processes to streamline day-to-day efficiencies for the Principal Gifts Program.
• Create and manage processes to track prospect strategies, solicitations, and activities in database to enable robust reporting of team progress.
• Serve as team liaison to peer roles at Engagement and Strategy, Penn's twelve schools and seven centers, Alumni Relations, Major Gifts, Reports, Data Analytics and Reporting.
• Manage data integrity of the Principal Gifts portfolio in database, including prospect research, pipeline entries, campaign coding, etc.; lead Compass (Salesforce) discussions and implementations.
• Maintain primary responsibility for tracking and management of gift data including retrieval of data and production and analysis of reports; produce gift-related donor outreach as needed.
• Lead bi-weekly meetings: scheduling and presentations with campus partners; ensure execution and follow-up.
• Provide organizational support with customized reports for team meetings, donor touch points, retreats, select board meetings.
