Job summary

Abbott in Pleasanton, CA, seeks a Principal FPA Financial Analyst for the Heart Failure division. You will provide financial planning, analysis, and reporting to management for the HF business unit, supporting monthly closes and LBE forecasting cycles.

The role requires 5–8 years of experience, a finance-related bachelor's degree, and strong skills in Excel, PowerPoint, EssBase/Hyperion, and system reporting within a matrixed, fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related field.
5 to 8 years of related experience.
Experience with EssBase (Dodeca) and Hyperion.
Knowledge of the principles, processes, and standards for integral financial analysis and reporting.
Strong proficiency with MS Office Suite: Excel and PowerPoint; experience with financial systems.
Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment.
Ability to work within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, changing environment.
Strong verbal and written communication ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization.

Responsibilities

Perform financial planning and analysis for the HF business unit, including budgeting, forecasting, P&L, and market modeling.
Conduct month-end close analyses and variances vs LBE with Geo FP&A teams.
Develop tools and templates for consolidation of schedules and process improvements.
Maintain a planning calendar for division and functional areas.
Coordinate with geographies to consolidate month-end, LBE, and Plan analysis.
Prepare consolidated reporting and presentations for quarterly LBE cycles.
Participate in ad-hoc analysis and reporting as required by finance management.
Provide routine reports based on knowledge of finance systems and HF business.
