Job summary
Cisco Systems, Inc. is seeking a Principal Forward Deployed Engineer to embed with customers, shaping AI-native platform adoption. You will drive production-ready prototypes, scale secure multi-tenant services, and influence product strategy through data-driven insights.
You will collaborate with the AI Platform Group and Office of the CTO to translate complex customer challenges into scalable software and champion an enterprise-wide, customer-first engineering culture.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in STEM with 15+ years of experience (or Master's with 12+ years, or PhD with 8+ years)
- Experience building scalable, distributed multi-tenant systems with strong isolation and security
- Experience building external-facing developer platforms or infrastructure products
- End-to-end system design including observability, failure handling, and complex authorization models (RBAC/ABAC)
Responsibilities
- Embed for innovation in customer environments and prototypes
- Bridge research to production with security considerations
- Data-driven roadmap influence with usage metrics
- Architect enterprise solutions for secure, multi-tenant services
- Provide technical consultation to influence product strategy
- Cultivate a customer-first engineering culture
