Job summary

Cloudera is seeking a seasoned Forward Deployed AI Engineer to embed with enterprise customers and design scalable AI/ML solutions on the Cloudera platform. You will prototype AI apps, shape enterprise AI architecture, and mentor teams while delivering production-ready systems.

You will work across with customers, translating needs into technical strategy, with travel up to 20% for on-site engagements. This director-level role demands 7+ years in ML engineering and strong cloud/data skills.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience building and deploying production-grade systems.
• 2-4 years building ML systems or GenAI/agentic apps.
• Experience with foundation models, context engineering, fine-tuning, semantic search, RAG, and agentic workflows.
• Deep understanding of LLMOps/MLOps: evaluation, observability, serving, monitoring, lifecycle.
• Experience designing scalable AI architectures aligned to enterprise standards.

Responsibilities

• Build full-stack AI/ML applications on Cloudera.
• Partner with strategic customers to move prototypes to production.
• Advise on AI roadmaps, architecture, and deployment.
• Codify patterns into reference architectures and starter kits.
• Mentor teams and contribute to reusable tooling.
