Job summary

Jobgether on behalf of a partner company is seeking a Principal Embedded Firmware Engineer to shape firmware for AI and HPC networking silicon in the United States. You will lead bare-metal C firmware on a RISC-V management core to provision and supervise on-chip acceleration engines.

You will collaborate with ASIC/RTL teams, implement secure boot and validation, test with QEMU, and mentor engineers, while applying AI-assisted tooling to accelerate development in a fully remote US-based role.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in embedded systems or firmware with architecture ownership or tech leadership.
• Expert-level C; C++ is a plus.
• Proficient Python for scripting and tooling.
• Hands-on bare-metal firmware for constrained cores.
• Experience with secure boot and hardware root-of-trust.
• Experience programming CSRs and hardware interfaces.
• RISC-V firmware development and toolchains preferred.
• Experience with AI-assisted engineering tools and validating generated code.
• Familiarity with SystemRDL, Kaitai, and co-verification workflows.
• Knowledge of AI/HPC networking interconnects is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Architect and develop bare-metal firmware for RISC-V management cores.
• Build secure firmware-loading pipelines with hardware root-of-trust.
• Implement per-engine bring-up, reset, and health checks with robust error handling.
• Scale firmware across multi-die accelerator arrays and updates.
• Define hardware/software interfaces with ASIC/RTL teams.
• Validate firmware using QEMU and automated tests.
• Apply AI-assisted methods while maintaining rigorous review.
• Lead architectural decisions and code reviews; mentor engineers.
• Collaborate with hardware, silicon, and software teams to ensure secure, production-ready firmware.
