Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and competitive Field Applications Engineer (FAE) to drive sales growth in the industrial and medical power supply segments. The FAE will collaborate with sales, marketing, and design engineers to provide highly differentiated technical support to our customers, facilitating design wins across diverse applications in the central region. This role is eligible for a Sales Incentive Plan, with specific targets to be determined.

Responsibilities
  1. Support the adoption of Advanced Energy power solutions throughout all stages of customer engagement, from presales to post-production support.
  2. Provide technical support such as solution recommendations, system architecture guidance, schematic reviews, and on-site qualification and debugging support, aiming to be an integral part of our customers' design teams.
  3. Develop engineering relationships to identify and communicate technical requirements for new applications, contributing to product development and roadmaps.
  4. Deliver technology updates and product training to customers, sales teams, and distribution partners.
  5. Act as a trusted customer advocate, earning respect from engineering leaders internally and externally through confidence and persuasive skills.
  6. Influence sales strategy from a technical perspective.
Work Environment

Locations: Minneapolis, MN, Denver, CO
Environment: Remote, home office setup

Qualifications
  • Charismatic communicator capable of advocating for customers and the company effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Passionate and curious about technology, with the ability to learn and adapt to industry trends.
  • Extensive knowledge of power electronics, including qualification, testing, modification, and debugging of power supplies.
  • Basic understanding of digital communication buses such as I2C and experience with firmware reloading/rebooting.
Education

Minimum 10 years of experience in power electronics design and/or applications, with a BSEE degree.

Compensation

The starting salary range is $115,000 to $150,000 annually, influenced by skills, experience, and location. The role is also eligible for a Sales Incentive Plan.
