Job summary

American Modern Insurance Group, Inc., a Munich Re company, is seeking a Principal Data Scientist to lead end-to-end personal lines pricing model development in Amelia, Ohio. The role focuses on building, deploying, monitoring, and mentoring, with exposure to regulatory filings and strategic analytics.

You will collaborate with stakeholders across the enterprise, drive innovations in predictive modeling, and help set pricing strategy for a subset of products while advancing the analytics roadmap

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Business Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, or related fields.
• Minimum six years of data science/predictive analytics in insurance, or eight+ years in other industries.
• FCAS certification is required.
• Experience with R and Python; GLMs/GBMs; ML concepts.
• Strong communication, mentorship, and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead pricing model strategy for a subset of products.
• Develop, deploy, monitor, and maintain predictive models.
• Collaborate effectively with stakeholders and manage filing schedules.
• Mentor junior data scientists and analysts.
• Present results to customers and management as requested.
• Document assumptions and communicate with regulators as needed.
