Job summary

American Modern Insurance Group, Inc., a Munich Re company, is seeking a Principal Data Scientist to lead end‑to‑end personal lines pricing models and evolve pricing strategy. This senior role focuses on modeling excellence, regulatory filings, and mentoring junior team members.

The position sits within the Predictive Analytics team and offers a hybrid work environment across locations in Amelia, OH, and across the US.

Qualifications

• FCAS certification is required.
• Proficient in R and Python programming.
• Deep understanding of GLMs and GBMs.
• Knowledge of AI/ML concepts (supervised/unsupervised, deep learning, NLP).
• Experience with Databricks or similar big data platforms is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with agile teams (Scrum/Kanban) and strong testing/validation focus.
• Proven project management and prioritization experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead pricing model strategy for a subset of products.
• Develop, deploy, monitor, and maintain predictive models.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to align analytics with business needs.
• Manage filing schedules for aligned products.
• Present predictive analytics findings to clients and management.
• Mentor junior data scientists and analysts.
