Westinghouse Electric Company seeks a Principal Facilities Engineer to lead senior mechanical engineering support for DEPM at the Columbia Fuel Fabrication Facility in Columbia, SC. This role provides technical authority, mentorship, and on-site leadership at the facility.

You will work with multi-discipline teams, apply ASME/ANSI standards, and drive design, analysis, and commissioning activities. A hybrid work option allows one remote day per week.

Qualificações

• 10+ years of progressive engineering experience in facility systems, design and leadership.
• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, or Industrial Engineering.
• Familiarity with ASME Section VIII, ASME B31.3 criteria.
• Understanding NRC and OSHA standards and regulations.

• Conduct field walkdowns and construction oversight.
• Support factory/site acceptance testing and commissioning processes.
• Lead procurement engineering and part optimization for projects.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment problems.
• Collaborate with electrical/I&C, civil/structural and EH&S teams.
• Participate in project teams and present technical materials.

About the role

As a Principal Facilities Engineer you will provide senior technical leadership and facilities mechanical engineering support for Design Engineering and Plant Modification (DEPM) activities at the Columbia Fuel Fabrication Facility (CFFF). You will serve as a technical authority and mentor for facilities mechanical engineering work. This role serves as a key on-site presence at the Columbia location.

You will report to the Facilities Support Lead/Supervisory Engineer and be located at Columbia, SC. An Operations workplace persona is offered, allowing employees to work from home one day per week, or one day every other week when utilizing the optional 9/80 schedule.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the resolution of complex technical issues for the Columbia Fuel Fabrication Facility (CFFF) and provide technical direction for design engineering and plant modification projects
• Lead and collaborate with multi-discipline engineering teams in the design, analysis, and evaluation of facility systems
• Apply engineering principles and engineering codes and standards like ASME and ANSI, to the design, analysis, and evaluation of systems
• Develop calculations and reports to document design and analysis results following ASME Section VIII, IX, and X code requirements, API, other international codes, and facility standards and specifications
• Conduct field walkdowns and construction oversight services
• Support factory acceptance testing, site acceptance testing, and startup/commissioning services for equipment and systems
• Apply procurement engineering and part optimization techniques to engineering projects.
• Diagnoses and troubleshoot problems with existing equipment.
• Work with engineers in other disciplines such as electrical/I&C and civil/structural and EH&S.
• Participate in project teams with internal and external representation.
• Lead customer and vendor technical discussions and present technical materials,

Qualifications

• 10 or more years of progressive engineering experience, including experience in facility systems, engineering design, and technical leadership
• Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Mechanical (preferred), Civil, Chemical, or Industrial Engineering
• Familiarity with the power industry, manufacturing, chemical plant or instrumentation & controls and automation systems
• Familiarity with ASME Section VIII, ASME B31.3 criteria
• Demonstrated ability to serve as a technical authority, lead complex engineering decisions, mentor engineers, and communicate recommendations to stakeholders and leadership
• Able to understand applicable NRC and OSHA standards and regulations.

We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be (($103,200 to $129,000)) per year.
