Job summary

Deluxe is seeking an experienced Principal Enterprise Architect to lead architecture across our platform engineering organization in a fast-paced fintech environment. You will drive end-to-end toolchain governance, automate pipelines, and set guardrails for scalable delivery.

You will mentor senior engineers and collaborate with product and security leaders to align technical investments with business priorities.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10+ years in software engineering or platform engineering with distributed systems experience.
• Experience owning enterprise CI/CD platforms and governance, including RBAC and policy gates.
• Strong ability to influence technical direction without direct authority.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate and define business systems solutions of moderate scope aligned to Deluxe's vision.
• Set architecture principles, guardrails, and reference implementations; govern artifacts.
• Lead Platform Engineering initiatives including Tool Chain Automation and Developer Experience.
• Own the toolchain around delivery: source control, artifacts, testing, and license management.
• Define golden paths from commit to production with explicit deviation decisions.
• Lead efforts to implement AI in the engineering workflow with safe governance.

Education

Bachelor's degree in IT or related field

10+ years in software engineering or platform engineering
