CFD Research Corporation is seeking a Principal Engineer to provide technical leadership on high-speed/supersonic/hypersonic testing in Huntsville, AL. The role emphasizes broad engineering expertise across ground testing, propulsion, and high-temperature flow, guiding multiple disciplines and projects onsite.

The ideal candidate will have 10+ years in high-speed testing, strong leadership, and excellent communication skills, with a Bachelor’s in aerospace/mechanical engineering and a Master’s

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or related engineering field (Master’s preferred).
• 10+ years of high-speed/supersonic/hypersonic testing engineering experience.
• Strong knowledge of ground test, propulsion, fluid dynamics, high temperature flow, and high-speed systems/sub‑systems.
• Proven ability to lead teams and mentor engineers.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Support hardware development, prototyping, and testing.
