Job summary

CFD Research Corporation in Huntsville, AL seeks a Principal Engineer to provide technical leadership for high-speed/supersonic/hypersonic testing. You will apply broad expertise in ground testing, propulsion, fluid dynamics and high-temperature flows to support hardware development and prototyping.

The role emphasizes mentoring engineers, guiding cross-disciplinary projects, and delivering technical excellence across programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace or Mechanical engineering; Master’s preferred.
• 10+ years of high-speed testing experience.
• Strong knowledge of ground test, propulsion, fluid dynamics, high temperature flow, and high-speed systems.
• Proven ability to lead teams and mentor engineers.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership on high-speed/supersonic/hypersonic testing.
• Support hardware development, prototyping, and testing in Hollywood, AL.
• Guide cross-disciplinary engineering teams with technical excellence.
