Job summary

Oracle in the United States, including Hawaii, seeks a senior software engineer to design and operate large-scale distributed systems and cloud infrastructure. You will help shape the scalability, durability, and availability of core components for hyperscale environments and lead performance, fault-injection, and resilience testing across global data centers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in CS/CE or equivalent.
• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong experience in designing and operating highly available, scalable distributed systems.
• Proficiency in object-oriented or systems programming languages such as Java, C++, C#, or Go.
• Experience with system-level test automation, performance/load testing, reliability engineering, and incident response.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and evolution of core distributed systems and data-plane services at hyperscale.
• Define scalability, elasticity, durability, and availability requirements for owned components.
• Optimize high-throughput data paths for retrieval, storage, and processing.
• Design fault-tolerant systems with in-service updates and automatic failover.
• Lead production incident diagnosis and root-cause analysis; mentor engineers.
• Build and improve Infrastructure as Code and operational automation.
