Job summary

Oracle is seeking a senior software engineer to lead the design and evolution of core distributed systems and data-plane services for hyperscale environments in the United States. You will define scalability, durability, and availability requirements and ensure designs meet them.

The role emphasizes resilient architectures, fault tolerance, security controls, and observability while collaborating with cross-functional teams across cloud platforms such as Oracle Cloud, AWS, Azure, and Google

Qualifications

Experience designing and operating highly available, scalable distributed systems.
Proficient in Java, C++, C#, or Go.
Experience with system-level test automation & reliability engineering.
Demonstrated technical architecture leadership & mentoring.
Strong problem-solving and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

Lead design and evolution of core distributed systems and data-plane services at hyperscale.
Define scalability, elasticity, durability, and availability requirements for owned components.
Optimize high-throughput data paths for large-scale retrieval, storage, and processing.
Design fault-tolerant systems with in-service updates and automatic failover.
Apply robust security, observability, and governing practices for cloud services.
