Job summary

Aristocrat Gaming seeks a Principal Engineer to raise the technical craft of our next‑generation gaming platform. You’ll lead architectural work, mentor teams, and guide cross‑team initiatives in a hands-on role with deep technical mastery.

You’ll influence technical direction, drive quality, and ensure alignment with product needs while championing AI-enabled development tools and security across Windows/Linux platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of commercial software engineering experience.
• Strong C# and .NET expertise.
• Experience designing and delivering large-scale libraries, frameworks, platforms, and/or multi-threaded apps.
• Ability to design and architect initiatives independently.
• Deep expertise in multi-threading, eventing, IPC, concurrency, performance tuning, memory management.
• Proven experience leading technical implementation across teams.
• Secure system design, networking, encryption, hardware/software integration.
• Leadership across cross-team technical initiatives and engineering standards.
• Mentor senior engineers and elevate technical capability.
• Experience evaluating new technologies for technical and business needs.
• Promote culture of quality and accountability.
• Strong communication and influencing skills.
• Experience with CI and automated testing.
• Ability to leverage AI-assisted development tools.
• Promote responsible AI adoption in engineering workflows.
• Casino gaming or related experience.
• Windows or Linux embedded OS cross-platform development.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and implementation of high-performance platform features.
• Provide technical leadership across multiple teams and ensure architectural alignment.
• Drive engineering excellence via code reviews, mentoring, and quality standards.
• Work across graphics, networking, encryption, hardware integration, drivers, SDKs.
• Evaluate and adopt new technologies to improve scalability and productivity.
• Identify and mitigate technical risk across initiatives.
• Analyze and debug issues.
• Champion AI-assisted development tools to accelerate work.
• Establish guidelines for AI-assisted code contributions.
• Use AI to mine logs, triage incidents, and generate architecture docs and ADRs.
• Evaluate and integrate AI-enabled tooling into the SDLC.
