Job summary

Shipt is seeking a Principal Engineer, Full-Stack Marketplace Platform, to define and scale the next generation of its marketplace architecture. You will own technical direction across frontend and backend, including GraphQL orchestration, server-driven UI patterns, and AI-native engineering practices.

You will partner with product, design, data science, and business stakeholders to build scalable, observable systems for pricing, promotions, loyalty, personalization, and checkout.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of software engineering experience with both frontend and backend systems.
• Experience leading architecture for large-scale customer-facing platforms.
• Strong full-stack depth with modern frontend frameworks and backend languages.
• Proven experience designing distributed systems, microservices, APIs, and event-driven architectures.

Responsibilities

• Define and scale the next generation of Shipt’s marketplace architecture.
• Own end-to-end system design for customer-facing experiences across web and app.
• Drive GraphQL orchestration patterns, schema design and federation strategies.
• Guide the design of resilient backend microservices and APIs for pricing, loyalty, and checkout.
• Champion AI-native engineering practices across Marketplace Engineering.
