Tighe & Bond seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead multidisciplinary design teams, from planning through commissioning, for buildings, campuses, and infrastructure projects. This role acts as Engineer of Record for power distribution, lighting, life safety, and related systems.
You will mentor engineers, develop proposals, coordinate with owners and architects, and support varying delivery methods. Massachusetts licensure preferred; PE in NE states acceptable.
Provide technical leadership and project direction for multidisciplinary design teams
Lead electrical engineering design from early planning and conceptual studies through construction documents, construction administration, and commissioning support
Lead electrical design for building systems, campus infrastructure, utility upgrades, and facility improvement projects
Serve as Engineer of Record for electrical projects involving power distribution, emergency and standby power, lighting, lighting controls, fire alarm, life safety, and related building systems
Evaluate existing electrical systems and develop recommendations for upgrades, replacement, capacity improvements, resiliency, and future growth
Lead engineering studies, energy efficiency reviews, load analyses, system planning, infrastructure strategy, master planning, and preliminary engineering reports
Prepare and review construction drawings, specifications, technical reports, cost estimates, and design narratives
Support traditional design-bid-build, design-build, design-assist, fast-track, and phased renovation project delivery
Coordinate with mechanical, plumbing, fire protection, structural, civil, architectural, and owner teams
Provide technical QA/QC and help establish consistent design standards
Mentor and develop electrical engineers and designers
Support project management, including scope development, schedules, budgets, fee estimates, staffing plans, and client communication
Participate in client meetings, presentations, interviews, and proposal efforts
Provide construction administration support, including submittal reviews, RFIs, site observations, punch lists, and commissioning coordination
Help grow and strengthen Tighe & Bond’s electrical and MEP presence across New England offices
Demonstrates extensive expertise in electrical engineering design, project leadership, and multidisciplinary collaboration, with a strong focus on power distribution, emergency systems, and building infrastructure. Proven ability to mentor engineers, manage complex projects, and ensure compliance with electrical codes and industry standards.
