Job summary

Amazon Development Center U.S., Inc. is seeking a Principal Engineer to lead AWSBA's technical direction and simplify software development across 20,000+ engineers. You will shape builder experiences using AI-powered tooling, agentic workflows, and federated execution within the AWS ecosystem.

You will own architecture across launch acceleration, OE acceleration, and service care, partnering with senior teams to drive transformation and improve developer productivity at AWS scale.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 10+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 8+ years leading design or architecture of systems.
• Proven track record delivering large-scale, highly available, low-latency systems.
• Deep hands-on experience building and operating software at AWS with familiarity of internal toolchains.
• Experience with AWS launch readiness processes and operational excellence standards.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive long-term technical strategy for AWSBA across three workstreams.
• Architect a multi-agent orchestration framework coordinating 20+ sub-agents.
• Design the Service Intelligence Knowledge Base for GenAI-driven workflows.
• Define technical strategy for autonomous operations of maintenance mode services.
• Identify and prioritize high-impact problems to validate framing.
• Decompose complex problems into simple, scalable solutions.
• Develop a roadmap delivering weekly improvements toward transformation.
• Establish team culture and coach SDEs to raise standards.
• Collaborate with ASBX and AWS partner teams on strategy.
