Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Principal Engineer to lead AWS Builder Acceleration, shaping the technical direction for a new org focused on reducing toil for 20,000+ AWS engineers. You will influence the ASBX roadmap, build AI-powered tooling, and drive autonomous operations across AWS services.

You will own architecture across launch, OE acceleration, and service care, mentoring others and collaborating with internal teams to deliver scalable builder experiences at AWS scale.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 10+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 8+ years of leading design or architecture of new and existing systems.
• Proven track record of leading the delivery of large-scale, highly available, low latency systems.
• Deep hands-on experience building and operating software at AWS, with familiarity with AWS internal toolchains.
• Experience with AWS launch readiness processes and operational excellence standards.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive long-term technical strategy for AWS Builder Acceleration across three workstreams: Launch Acceleration, OE Acceleration, and Service Care Center.
• Architect the multi-agent orchestration framework coordinating 20+ sub-agents across AWS with safety guarantees and federated execution.
• Design the Service Intelligence Knowledge Base platform to power GenAI-driven developer workflows.
• Define the technical strategy for autonomous operations of all AWS maintenance mode services.
• Identify and prioritize high-impact problems that impede AWS software development, validating problem framing.
• Decompose complex builder problems into simple, scalable solutions.
• Develop a roadmap delivering weekly improvements while targeting long-term transformation.
• Mentor SDEs to set new standards for the software builder experience.
• Collaborate with ASBX while focusing on AWS challenges and align with partner teams.
