Job summary

Eliassen Group is seeking a hands-on Principal Engineer for a remote contract-to-hire role to shape our onboarding platform. You will drive architectural decisions, contribute production code daily, and collaborate with Product, Customer Success, and Sales to embed AI capabilities across the platform.

Ideal candidates have 8+ years of software leadership, strong cloud-native design experience, and proficiency in Go, React, PostgreSQL, and Kubernetes.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience building and operating production SaaS platforms.
• Experience as a Staff/Principal/Lead Engineer or similar technical leadership role.
• Strong architectural design experience in cloud-native environments.
• Proven ability to influence technical direction across teams and systems.
• Experience partnering with Product and business stakeholders to drive outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive architectural direction across the platform.
• Write production code daily and contribute to feature development.
• Lead implementation for complex customer and platform initiatives.
• Participate in design and code reviews and provide technical mentorship.
• Develop AI strategies and AI-powered capabilities using modern LLM architectures.
• Architect solutions supporting customer-managed AI, including BYOM and BYOK.
