Job summary

Toyota Motor North America’s Digital Innovations group in Plano, TX seeks a Principal Engineer to lead the technical strategy and execution of Supply Chain transformation initiatives. You will set direction, guide multiple teams, and drive AI-enabled delivery across complex software portfolios.

You will partner with engineering leaders, product teams, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable solutions while advancing engineering standards and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• 8+ years designing and delivering complex enterprise software solutions.
• 5+ years of cloud-native AWS architecture and scalable platform design.
• 5+ years delivering modern software with React/Node.js, databases, APIs, and DevOps.
• Experience leading multi-team, cross-functional engineering initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Define and advance the technical vision for large-scale supply chain platforms.
• Lead architecture and design decisions across products and teams.
• Provide principal-level technical leadership across the full lifecycle.
• Mentor engineers, leads, and managers to elevate technical excellence.
• Directly lead multiple development teams and ensure aligned delivery rhythms.
• Drive disciplined execution with scaled agile practices and measurable outcomes.
• Collaborate with product, operations, architecture, and platform partners.
• Lead technical discussions to ensure business objectives and feasibility.
• Establish modern engineering practices—cloud-native, DevSecOps, observability.
• Identify cross-team bottlenecks and drive alignment across groups.
• Provide senior leadership visibility into direction, risks, and decisions.
• Set standards for AI-assisted engineering with review and security controls.
• Run time-boxed experiments to validate architecture and standards.
• Stay close to operations with supply chain teams to reflect real work.
• Promote a culture of accountability, curiosity, learning, and inclusivity.
