Job summary

Toyota Financial Services in Plano, TX is seeking a Principal Engineer to design end-to-end architecture for our financial services applications. You will lead design discussions across APIs, databases, caching layers, and observability, while aligning with business goals and security requirements.

You will drive AWS-based, cloud-native solutions, mentor engineers, and collaborate with product owners and cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, resilient systems that support real-time data

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering or related field.
• 10+ years of software engineering and architecture experience, with 3+ years in system design.
• Proven track record designing and deploying large-scale, cloud-native solutions (AWS).

Responsibilities

• Lead design discussions around APIs, databases, caching, messaging, resilience and observability.
• Design end-to-end architecture for applications across financial services portfolio.
• Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with cross-functional teams to align with business goals.
• Evaluate new patterns, tools, and frameworks through PoCs and hands-on work.
• Drive cloud-native architecture using AWS services and DevSecOps practices.
