Job summary

Scribd, Inc. is seeking a Principal Engineer to define how we build software as AI changes the work.

You will own the technical vision for agentic engineering, coordinating across hundreds of engineers and coding agents to shape code, reviews, and deployment across our stack. You will work with the CTO and leadership to set direction, invest in the right capabilities, and ensure our internal tools and frameworks scale with growth.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in software engineering, including Staff/Principal level.
• Hands-on AI experience applied to real software problems with agentic tooling.
• Deep understanding of agent runtimes, harnesses, and context management.
• Track record of organization-wide technical impact and mentoring.
• Experience in developer experience, platform or infrastructure engineering.

Responsibilities

• Decide architecture, patterns, and guardrails for engineers and coding agents across codebase, CI/CD, and infra.
• Set standards for Scribd's internal tools, libraries, and platforms used by engineers.
• Partner with engineering leaders to turn cross-org problems into initiatives and own delivery.
• Mentor staff and senior engineers, expand agent capabilities, and roll out new features.
