Job summary

Jobot in Burlingame, CA is seeking a Principal Engineer to own architecture decisions and shape the engineering culture at a global scale. You will lead complex backend systems from concept to production and mentor a team of engineers to deliver high-impact features.

You will work with product teams to plan initiatives, evaluate AI-assisted development tools, and drive improvements across a distributed codebase.

Salary: $230,000 - $250,000 per year

What You Bring

• 15+ years of software development experience with demonstrated engineering leadership
• 8+ years of backend development experience
• 3+ years with TypeScript and AWS
• Deep distributed systems design expertise
• A track record of building platforms, reusable libraries, and high quality modular code
• Strong communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences
• Experience with AI assisted software development tools, this is a meaningful plus
